If you are looking for Indian restaurants in Madrid and you don't know which one to choose, you've come to the perfect place. In this article I list my favorite Indian restaurants in the Spanish capital.
Indian gastronomy is booming and has more and more followers and lovers of the sensory experience of this cuisine full of color and explosion of flavors. For this reason, there is a wide variety of Indian food restaurants on the market that allow you to travel to India through its flavors.
Here is a list of my favorite Indian restaurants in Madrid.
Indian restaurants in Madrid
Tandoori Station
This Indian restaurant is located in the heart of the Salamanca neighborhood and is considered as one of the best Indian restaurants in Madrid.
This restaurant in the center of Madrid, offers a tasting menu with a very interesting concept in which you travel by train from the north to the south of the country through its flavors and each section of the menu is a train station. This menu is the best option if you are not an expert in Indian gastronomy and want to discover it (it is also a very complete option for Indian food experts).
They also have an extensive menu full of traditional recipes with a very personal and innovative touch of Chef Nadeem.
My favorite dishes are the Biryani, a rice dish made from his mother's recipe and the Murgh Ka Tikka,a chicken marinated in yogurt and cooked in the tandoori oven (it melts in your mouth...an experience on another level!).
They have takeaway food and is one of the best Indian restaurants in Madrid with terrace.

Curry Masala
This restaurant is next to the Gran Via in Madrid. It is a very authentic Indian restaurant like the ones you could find in any Indian city. The service is very warm and cozy.
My favorite dishes are the Sheekh Kebabone of the best lamb kebabs I have ever eaten in Madrid, the famous lamb Raganjosh, the lamb Korma and Bhindi masala, sautéed and spiced okra (a dish not found in many restaurants).
They have daily executive menu and also a tasting menu which will be my next choice when I return to Curry Masala.

Udaipur
This Indian restaurant in Madrid is located in Paseo de la Castellana and belongs to the Khazuria group.
It is a super cozy place with a unique and very careful decoration, full of color and quite abundant but very chic and elegant. It also has a heated terrace that is a hit both in summer and in the cold winters of the Spanish capital.
Their cocktail menu deserves a special mention because in addition to the classic cocktails they have a selection of very innovative cocktails with spices and ingredients "with a very Indian flavor". My favorite cocktail at this Indian restaurant in Madrid is the Boombay Masala,a drink based on tequila infused with masala, lime and spicy mango. They also have a very balanced wine list for those who like to pair Indian food with wine... not my case since I prefer to stay true to tradition and drink Lassi, some natural juice or a "Made In India" beer like Kingfisher.
Its menu is a festival of traditional dishes, Tandoor baked preparations and exquisite curries, but if there is something I love in this Indian restaurant, it is the chicken croquettes Tikka Masala...don't leave without trying them (I warn you that you run the risk of repeating). Other recommendations are the chicken with mango and coconut sauce, the salmon Madras (South Indian style) and coconut rice pudding.
They also offer a tasting menu.

Benares - Indian Restaurant & Bar in Madrid
It is located in the Chamberí neighborhood and this Indian restaurant in Madrid, of all those on the list is the most sophisticated and the one that best represents the "Indian haute cuisine".
The place is very elegant with sober but very warm and cozy decoration. It has a patio with a small pond. Its founders have another restaurant "Benares London"which has a Michelin star. This is your restaurant if you want to treat yourself to a sophisticated tribute with Indian gastronomy.
I recommend the entire menu but my favorite dishes are the cauliflower in Tandoor with lime and mint aioli, the Malai Macchi Currya fish curry with a coconut and mustard base, the Gosth Rogan Josha very tasty lamb curry, and Benares coconut cream,a Catalan cream with coconut milk and flavored with green cardamom.
They have a tasting menu, Thali ejecituvo and an extensive menu of delicious dishes.

Bangalore - Indian restaurants in Madrid with lots of charm
This Indian restaurant is located in the Salamanca neighborhood and belongs to the Khazuria group.
Bangalore is "the Garden City of India" and that is the reason for the lush jungle decor of this place. An overwhelming green deco that will make you feel in a tropical garden far away from here. The place is cozy and modern. This restaurant in Madrid has a terrace, something very appreciated in the capital.
After my visit to this Indian restaurant in Madrid, I recommend you the Biryani shrimp, the chicken Lababdar and Mix Grill Bangalore tray Tandoori. A tasting menu is also available.
Like the Udaipur restaurant in Madrid (they belong to the same group), their wine list is very good.

Tandoori Masala - Las Rozas Indian Restaurant
This Indian restaurant is located in Las Rozas. The place is decorated very Indian style and once inside you can imagine being in any family restaurant in New Delhi, Jaipur or Calcutta. It is one of the most popular restaurants in Las Rozas.
My recommendations are the Chicken Achari with green mango, the Shrimp Vandaloo extra spicy and all baked preparations Tandoor.
In addition to the tasting menu they also have a menu of the day at a very good price.
If you are craving for an Indian restaurant in Las Rozas, Tandoori Masala is your best and closest option.
Taj Mahal Madrid
They have 5 locations in Madrid and these restaurants have become a reference point for those who enjoy tapas with Indian dishes and a few beers.
I have visited two of the restaurants and both of them have a very neat and casual decoration and ambiance.
My recommendations for Indian tapas with friends are as follows: PakorasSamosas and the Paneer roll, followed by a Mix grill tray of Tandoori with Naans varied.
They have food for leavening in several Apps.

Indian Aroma
This emblematic Indian restaurant is located in Madrid's Barrio de las Letras.
As an anecdote I tell you that this restaurant in Madrid has clients like our "Royal" Queen Letizia, who by the way chose this place to celebrate one of her birthdays. Other celebrities such as the Colombian singer Camilo and his wife Evaluna have also passed through here.
The food is very faithful to its origins and they use the best ingredients to offer a menu full of very traditional and homemade flavors.
My favorite dishes are the Malai Tikka, the chicken with spinach and Dal Makani. The Lassi a very good Lassi and they have it in several flavors.
They have a tasting menu, and as always it is a very good option if you don't know what to choose but want to try several Indian dishes.
It's a very homey restaurant that makes me feel like I'm at the home of one of my friends in New Delhi eating the delicacies made by his mother.

Restaurante Kundan - Majadahonda Indian Restaurant
If you are looking for an Indian restaurant in Majadahonda, Kundan restaurant is your perfect Indian restaurant.
I recommend the fish Amritsari, the Pakora eggplant, the salmon in Tandoori and lamb Samrat with dried fruit sauce.
They have a very good and varied menu of the day.
Purnima
It is located in Goya street and like Bangalore and Udaipur, it belongs to the Khazuria group. The truth is that this group of restaurants has real gems of Indian style dining and entertainment in Madrid.
Like the previous ones, it is a space of very exotic and tropical decoration with a very fresh and cozy atmosphere.
They have a tasting menu and the menu is very similar to that of the other restaurants in the group, but of everything I tried during my visit I recommend the Bengen masala,a delicious dish of eggplant in curry and the Biryani mixed. The rice pudding which I have recommended to you before, is subliminal and the Kulfi delicious.
