Gifts with a cause (from projects in India)

Any date is a good time to offer gifts to our loved ones, but Christmas is undoubtedly the best time to give gifts of solidarity and awareness.

I share with you all about the gifts with a cause and how you can do your bit to make the world a better place.

What is a solidarity gift (gift with a cause)?

Solidarity gifts are gifts that work magic in double way. On the one hand, they are a token of affection, recognition or celebration for those who receive them, and on the other hand, they are a wonderful contribution to a social cause. You can choose very diverse causes such as the fight against human trafficking, education for children at risk of exclusion, environmental conservation, fight against animal abuse, empowerment for women in developing communities... Whatever is the cause, you will be collaborating in the creation of a BETTER and more conscious WORLD..

In addition, most solidarity products are based on fair trade with decent working conditions and maximum respect for the environment.

Solidarity Gifts with an impact in India

Here is a list of gifts with a cause from various NGOs working every day for a better India and some stores that promote products with social purposes and donate part of their profits, a business model that is booming.

Sonrisas de Bombay

The NGO founded by Jaume Sanllorente is undoubtedly one of the NGOs that I most admire for the work it does in Mumbai and India in general. Fight to end human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation in vulnerable areas. They rescue and help survivors build a dignified life through training, thus giving them and their families a future and the ability to be self-sufficient.

In their online store they have beautiful items, many of them handmade by the beneficiaries of Bombay Smiles projects. These coasters, in particular, are made by survivors of human trafficking. Shopping in your online store you will be collaborating so that they can continue implementing improvements in the lives of all these girls :)

In their online store they have many beautiful handmade items.ideal for any type of occasion and gift. They also have a wide range of solidarity gifts for weddings, solidarity gifts for christenings or corporate events. They also have solidarity gifts for Christmas :)

Vicente Ferrer Foundation

The Vicente Ferrer Foundation has been working for many years on the poorest areas of South India, particularly in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Since 1988, they have built more than 3,000 water wells to halt the desertification of Anantapur and offer hope to the most disadvantaged communities in the area.

They are fully committed to community development and education as well as health and empowerment.

I leave you the link to your online store where you can find articles of jewelry, decoration and many other solidarity gifts like this keychain made with sari fabric.

Amigos de Odisha

The NGO Friends of Odisha has been working in this Indian state for many years, promoting social actions to meet the basic needs of the population at risk of exclusion.

They have centers in various parts of the state: shelter centers to orphan boys and girls, several shelters for women at risk of exclusion and a center for the elderly. They also have a residency of Secondary Studies , and also have a network of centers in rural areas covering almost 100 villages and tribal areas.

Buying this solidarity book you collaborate with the NGO's projects , and I can assure you that it is an exciting book for India lovers and beginners alike. A text full of emotions that helps to change the lives of hundreds of children in Odisha.

FAADA

FAADA is the Foundation for Advice and Action in Defense of Animals. An organization that fight for the respect and rights of animals around the world, and aims to "change society's habits that harm animals in order to achieve a respectful coexistence with all living beings". In India, it is still common for the tourism sector to use elephants and camels as exotic attractions for tourists. FAADA does a great job in its fight against the mistreatment of these animals and luckily many of them manage to have a second chance at life in a rehabilitation sanctuary.

In their online store they have many items that are ideal for animal lovers. T-shirts, mugs, postcards with messages and even social and environmental awareness courses are available.
