The\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0is prepared in Indian homes, in restaurants, cafeterias and street food stalls (<em>lassi Wallahs).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Origin of the\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0originated in the Punjab<\/strong>\u00a0(a state of India bordering Pakistan) but it is the favorite cold drink of Indians especially in the hot season. This refreshing drink\u00a0<strong>arose to appease the effect of chili and spices<\/strong>\u00a0during meals. Greek yogurt is also excellent for making lassi but don't forget to modify the consistency with more milk otherwise it will be too thick.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Milk:<\/strong>\u00a0milk allows you to play with the consistency and texture making it more liquid. The amount will depend on how thick you like the lassi. You can also use vegetable milks, with almond milk it is very good.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sugar:<\/strong>\u00a0use brown sugar whenever possible. You can substitute the sugar with honey or other natural molasses. The amount of sugar to taste.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ice:<\/strong>\u00a0ice is used to cool the\u00a0<em>lassi.<\/em>\u00a0If you use frozen mango you do not need to add ice. Using ice dilutes the drink so be careful with the amount of milk added.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Variants or Types of\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many variants and flavors, but they are all divided into 2 types of\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>Lassi<\/em>\u00a0sweet<\/strong>\u00a0(sweet\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0o Meethi\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0): the most popular is the\u00a0<strong><em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0classic<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(plain lassi<\/em>\u00a0) which is made with yogurt and sugar. There are also fruit\u00a0<strong><em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0,<\/strong>the most famous is the\u00a0<strong><em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0of Mango<\/strong>\u00a0(handle\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0) and it is delicious. It can also be made\u00a0<strong>banana\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em><\/strong>,<strong><em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0strawberry<\/strong>\u00a0and you can use as many fruits as you can imagine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Lassi<\/em>\u00a0Lassi<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(salted lassi<\/em>\u00a0,\u00a0<em>Namkeen lassi<\/em>\u00a0): the\u00a0<strong>classic salted lassi<\/strong>\u00a0is usually made from yogurt and with a touch of salt (they usually add a pinch of masala). There are also versions of\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0as the<strong><em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0saffron<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(Kesar lassi<\/em>\u00a0) and the\u00a0<strong><em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0spicy<\/strong>\u00a0<em>(masala lassi<\/em>\u00a0).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How is the\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Traditionally, the\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em>\u00a0was made with a wooden beater called a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4hzUiAs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mathani\u00a0<\/a>and even in the streets of India it is made like this. At home you can make it with a mixer or even beat it by hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SWEET LASSI RECIPE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>250 grs yogurt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 ice cubes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>200 ml cold water or milk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tablespoons sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 green cardamom seeds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add the yogurt and ice cubes to the blender and blend for 20-25 seconds until creamy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add water or milk (to taste, depending on the thickness you want) and sugar and mix at a lower speed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serve and garnish with green cardamom powder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">With what can I take the\u00a0<em>lassi<\/em>?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can take lassi to accompany your favorite curry or any other Indian dish.
